Dee and Neick Newman purchased (Swan Ballet Dance School #2) in July 2016. The former owners had developed a great program for kids over the past 30 years in which Dee and Neick believe in at the core and were excited for the opportunity to take it to the next level.
Dee (a New Orleans native), began her passion for dancing at the age of 5 dancing and performing for a local studio called, “The Benjamin School of Dance” where she studied the art of Ballet/Pointe, Tap and Jazz. By the time she was in high school, she became a Majorette and Dancer to perform during Mardi Gras Parades and Conventions with the high school marching band. Dee is also a Massage Therapist and received her degree from Heritage Insititue in 2004.
Neick (a Northern VA native), has a B.S. Degree in Accounting from George Mason University (2006) and grew his passion for the art after witnessing his eldest daughter mature into an intelligent, confident and respectful young lady during the 10 years she was a dancer for the Swan Ballet Dance School #2. Although his career over the past 20 years has been in Accounting/Finance, he has gained a great respect for the art as he has seen the discipline improve cognitive abilities, social interactions, and overall health.
These positive outcomes have lead himself (and Dee) to take on a new perspective of the world and build a dance business that combines the art with positive personalities from themselves (and a talented team) to provide opportunity for anyone to learn dance and feel good about themselves in order to make the world a better a place…one dance step at a time.
